Hard to believe that next week the final set of Red Cross swimming lessons starts at the Oliver Community Pool…from Waterbabies to Lifesaving courses there is a program for any age and ability. Monday morning classes start so be sure to get down to the pool right away to register your child for lessons taught by our fantastic friendly and qualified instructors.

Thanks to the generosity of the Royal Canadian Legion Oliver Branch #97 next Friday, August 16th there will be a FREE public swim for all ages at the pool from 6:30-8:00 pm. Come swim, play, use our diving board and equipment or relax in the hot tub and yes, admission is absolutely free for everyone.

Next week’s theme for Sun Fun day camp for children aged 6-12 yrs is “Holiday Week”! Monday celebrate Thanksgiving in August, Tuesday bring your best costume for the Halloween costume parade. Wednesday will be Happy Birthday to everyone and Thursday is Christmas. Friday campers are to wear their favorite sports jersey to celebrate all sports championships, compete in the “Sun Fun Cup Challenge” and eat some pizza. Parents can register their little camper for 1 – 5 days per week and the cost per day per child is $20. We also offer before-and-after-camp care called Keeners for those parents who need a little more time getting to and from work.

Even the little ones get to go to camp next week! Children 3-5 years are invited to attend “Tykes Day Camp” Monday to Friday 9:00-11:30 am at the Oliver Community Centre. Tykes will sing songs, play games and make crafts together with a different theme each day. Registration is $25 per child for the week and can be completed at our Recreation Office open Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30 pm.
