On 2013-07-25 at 2200 Hrs Oliver RCMP attended to the 400 Block of Skagit Ave for a theft from vehicle complaint. The complaint was woken up by the sound of someone trying to open the door on his trailer. The complainant ran outside and saw two persons on foot near the end of Skagit ave turning south bound on HWY 97. Ultimately two Oliver youth and a 20 year old associate were contacted and although there is insufficient evidence to support charges against the three it is likely that this is not the first nocturnal raid that they may have been involved in.

RCMP attended and with the assistance of a local kayak enthusiast were able to confirm that the canoe was occupied by a mannequin. This effort was apparently part of an ongoing series of pranks between two summer time visitors to the Oliver area. The prankster advised his efforts were meant to be in good fun and not meant to attract police attention. Appropriate finger wags and admonishments were provided free of charge by the investigating member.
