Hi Friends,

Thank you for taking the time to read our ROAD HOCKEY TO CONQUER CANCER, Gina’s Rock Team Page. This is our second year participating. Everyone on our team is excited for Game Day September 14, 2013.

However, what we’re most excited for is the opportunity to raise money for The BC Cancer Foundation. All money raised will be going to crucial cancer research, therapies and treatments that will ultimately save lives and provide a fighting chance to all those living with this devastating disease. We have two Moms on the team whose sons have battled cancer, and won. Adain, Hepatoblastoma, stage 3. Cancer survivor 13 years.  Hunter 13, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, stage 4. Just over a year in remission. We’re all united in our one goal of raising cancer awareness and the need to fight it.

We came together when Hunter wanted to participate in memory of his Grandpa who passed away of lung cancer last year. Unfortunately, his Mom found out he was too young to play, so that is when his Mom got a group of Moms to play on his behalf. We have set a fundraising goal that we are confident we can reach, but in order to do so we need your help. Last year we raised just over $14,000. With your generous contributions and support, we believe we can exceed our fundraising goal.

While we realize reaching our team goal won’t be easy, we wanted to aim high so that we could raise as much money as possible and make a truly impactful contribution in the fight against cancer.  If you take into account all of the families and friends of those affected, the number of people touched by cancer would be in the millions – it’s time to take a stand against cancer.
That’s why, with your help, our team hopes to raise as much money as possible so that we can support The BC Cancer Foundation.
