On July 27th, 2013 at approximately 12:40 am, an Osoyoos RCMP officer on patrol observed a Volkswagon Beetle commit a traffic infraction as it turned onto Highway 3 from Cottonwood Dr. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to display signs of impairment by alcohol and was required to provide samples of his breath for analysis. As a result of 2 failed breath sample readings the 58 year old Osoyoos man received a 90 day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition and his car was impounded or 30 days.
On July 27th, 2013, Police received a report that sometime between July 21st and 27th, a boat cover was cut open on a 2006 Master craft boat which had been moored at Sole Vita. The thieves went on the boat and stole stereo equipment from inside. On July 28th, 2013 at 1:00 am, Police were conducting a road check for impaired drivers on 45th St in Osoyoos, BC. A white Nissan from Alberta was checked and the driver was found to be intoxicated. The 36 year old female driver from Edmonton received a 90 day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition and her car was impounded or 30 days. Due to the driver’s level of intoxication she was lodged in cells until sober enough to care for herself.
