Tanker dumps load on wildfire east of Yellow Brick Road – south of the White Lake Observatory on the road to Fairview. (5pm)
Several bombers and a spotter appear to have brought the fire under some level of control despite the winds. Crews from Forestry and the Willowbrook Fire Department on the scene near the old Wild Boar Farm.
The fire is 10 to 15 miles north of Oliver – almost at White Lake. RCMP have cut off traffic at Willowbrook and at White Lake turn-off. Fire officials say the damage is more than 50 hectares and was aggressive in nature due to winds.
Truck water-tankers and other emergency crews the only traffic being let through at 5pm by police.
