Oliver Town Council has grant the local Search and Rescue organization a 20 year lease for a dollar a year and will build a sewer line to serve several pieces of property on Cessna Street.
The value of the land granted is 168 thousand dollars.
The Town will also commit up to $100 thousand to get sewer services to the east side of the airport.
The Oliver and Osoyoos Search and Rescue has obtained a new portable building from the School District (above) and it is hoped that all municipal services will be available in time for its use in the next year.
The building must be placed on a foundation with services to the street.
It is the intention of council to have sewer services available to both the air cadet hangar and the search and rescue lot at the north/east corner of the airport. This will also allow for future commercial/industrial/airport development outlined in the strategic plan.
