On July 22, 2013 16:31 hrs the Oliver RCMP and Fortis BC responded to a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle incident in the area of Fairview Road, just east of Willowbrook Road. Arrival confirmed that a hydro pole had been struck, broken in two places and that hydro was out in the area.
The vehicle which was associated to the crash had fled the scene leaving behind a front left side light assembly and a piece of fiberglass. The light assembly has been identified as being associated to a 1991 to 1993 Acura Integra and the fiberglass was black in color although the original paint appears to have been red. It is unknown at this point if there were any injuries as a result of the crash. Speed appears to have been a factor.
Police report that nocturnal thefts from unsecured vehicles continue to be reported to the Oliver Detachment. Oliver residents should be aware of the fact that there are those that walk our streets and alleys in the night and finding an unlocked vehicle door appears to be too much for them to ignore. Please lock your doors and take your valuables out of your vehicles!
If you see crime happen call Crime Stoppers or your local detachment of the RCMP.
