A 19 year old Keremeos man is dead following a Saturday drowning in the Similkameen River.
The man was floating down the river with friends yesterday afternoon when he fell from his raft and was swept away by strong currents.
The man was unable to negotiate the water currents and was swept under the surface near a Keremeos area bridge.
The Keremeos Fire Dept and Search and Rescue swift water team were able to recover the man’s body.
The BC Coroners Service and Keremeos RCMP investigating the drowning and the man’s name has not been released.
