Where is the Town on this continual harassment of Tradewinds’ residents? Isn’t it about time Counsel stepped in and acted? Linda Larson, our new MLA, where are you on this topic? Jack, where are you? Mayor Hovanes? You are all aware of the history. I live outside the Park. The noise on the July long weekend, when we were all enjoying our BBQ and the summer weather, was annoying, timing obvious to us all, and designed to aggravate all Park residents. Yet more harassment. Town of Oliver, sort it out and don’t hide behind, “he hasn’t asked for anything yet”. |
This comment yesterday I missed but is worthy of my input I think.
The Town of Oliver has been involved in this dispute, indirectly, for a number of years but to react to your emotional plea Keith – it is just not our business what goes on between a person or persons who have a landlord/tenant relationship.
Those matter are covered by the Landlord and Tenant Act. I can remember former Mayor Pat Hampson and myself attending meetings of Mobile Home owners when the dispute first arose. We pledged support and indicated that the people who live there will always come first – but it was clearly understood – the Town had limited authority.
The relationship between tenants and the owner is a testy one and the owners have legal counsel to act on their behalf. If it was a problem the Town could deal with I can assure you it would have been handled by now.
I would love to be the first that said let’s sit and around and talk about it – but I really doubt that would work in the present situation.
There would be more peace if both sides retired to their corners and resolved not to go to the next round – but that is wishful thinking.
If your complaint, Keith, is about noise I hope I can find a record of such when I do a search.
