People had to scramble out of the way when a Penticton man drove his boat right up onto a city pier, leaving it perched high and dry on the railings.
RCMP said tourists were enjoying a stroll on the city’s Rotary Park pedestrian pier Tuesday when they spotted the 28-foot day cruiser heading towards them. They had to jump out of the way as the boat ran up and over the end of the pier winding up lodged between the railings.
The only person injured was a passenger on the boat, a 43-year-old woman, who suffered a small cut to the side of her face.
A charge of unsafe or dangerous operation of a vessel is being considered.
