RDOS is about to hire surveyor on property for new museum on Main Street in Osoyoos.
Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen is in the process of designing the proposed Osoyoos Museum. We will need survey services primarily for the Architect’s design work as described below:
Survey of lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 18 & 19. Block 733, District Lot 2450S Similkameen Division Yale District Plan 2450. Town of Osoyoos. Intersection of 87th and Main Street (existing Home Building Centre 8702 Main).
Tenders to be sent in by July 25th
In June 2011 – rural and municipal voters authorized up to $1,260,000 for the project in borrowings.
The museum project is a joint function of the RDOS.
Additional property surrounding the building will be used for 22 public parking spaces and an outdoor area for an urban park and display area for the museum. Two lots purchased by the Town of Osoyoos have been identified as sites for future affordable housing development.
Although design plans for the new museum facility are not complete the Osoyoos Museum Society is planning to have access for people with disabilities to the building, a lift that will move people and goods from the basement to the main floor, an archive room downstairs to safely store many artifacts and a multi-purpose room for community events, activities and displays.
