“The Regional Hospital District is pleased to see the RFPs posted and additional planning work proceeding on this important project,” said Okanagan-Similkameen RHD Chair Janice Perrino.
Perrino told the RDOS meeting Thursday that things are moving very quickly now and she hopes for an early approval from Treasury Board once the Business Case is proven in the spring of next year.
RFPs issued for patient care tower project at Penticton Regional Hospital
Interior Health (IH) issued requests for proposals today for architectural, engineering and mechanical consulting services in the development of a business case for a new patient care tower at Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH).
“The business case is the next step in fulfilling our commitment to a new patient care tower at Penticton Regional Hospital,” said Minister of Health Terry Lake. “The business case finalizes the scope, cost and schedule for the project.”
Three requests for proposals are posted on the BC Bid website (www.bcbid.ca) and seek consulting services on the architectural, engineering and mechanical components of the business case.
Building upon the original master site plan and concept plan phases, approval of the business case is the last formal step before government approval to proceed with the project.
“The road to a new patient care tower at PRH is getting shorter,” said IH Board Chair Norman Embree. “Interior Health is grateful to its partners and the community for supporting the business case planning process.”
The RFPs close on July 23, 2013. Interior Health anticipates awarding the successful proposals by August 2013.
