Phone & Mail Frauds:  The Oliver Detachment has seen an increase in the number of people attending to our front counter looking for information on potential mail / phone scams.  Contact any of the following –

Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre:

On June 25, 2013 an Oliver resident, living in the area of the 100 block of Willow Glen Place, reported having returned home after four days away to find that someone had thrown a rock through the glass in her back patio door.  This report is likely related to the previous media release of mischief complaints in the same area.

File # 2104 2013-2500 refers

On June 26, 2013 the Oliver RCMP received a report of mischief to the Hand-i bus which had been parked in the parking lot at the South Okanagan General Hospital.  At some time in the previous few days unknown persons had written “Jordan” and “Sam was here” on the back of the bus in black marker.

File # 2104 2013-2515 refers

On June 27, 2013 an Oliver resident residing in the area of the 6000 block of Mountainview Drive reported that some unknown person(s) shot paint ball at the residence.  No damage, more of a nuisance as that paint was easily washed off with a garden hose.
