The rash of vandalism during this reporting period appear to be as a result of some (three) of our local youth looking for some place to get rid of their pent up energy after finishing school for the year. Parents are asked to continue to be cognizant of what their children are doing. This type of vandalism is not generally associated to our seasonal fruit pickers or any other demographic. Further, if Oliver residents witness youth traveling in groups in their area or experience damage to their property during the evening or early morning hours, please report these instances to the police in a timely fashion so that focused patrols can be conducted. Reporting files such as nocturnal vandalism the morning after has very little investigative value.
The police continuously receive and appreciate information from the public which may have value in solving crime in the Oliver area. Please take advantage of the Crime stoppers program if you wish to remain anonymous or, feel free to contact the Oliver Detachment anytime at (250)498-3422.
