David passed away Tuesday, June 11 at the too young age of forty-seven in Summerland from an acute heart attack. He is survived by his wife Doreen and sons Michael and Tyler of Summerland. He is also survived by mother Nancy Meyer (nee Stuible) of Victoria, and stepfather Philip; father Lloyd Fairweather (Osoyoos) and stepmother Carol; brothers George and Chris ; sisters Melanie and Leanne; and grandmother Dorothy Stuible (nee Fleming) of Oliver and Victoria.
David grew up in Oliver, Vancouver, and Davis, California. Following time commercial fishing in Hawaii, he worked as a chef in California, Victoria, Yellowknife, and ultimately in Summerland. David’s maternal grandfather was Lawrence Stuible of Oliver. His paternal great-grandparents, Harry and Hetty Fairweather, built the Oliver Hotel, and Oliver’s first sawmill in the early 1920’s.
