The provincial Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations has issued a High Stream flow Advisory for much of the B.C. Interior, including for systems within the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen.
A low pressure system which has engulfed Southern British Columbia has brought warm, moist air into the province and prompted Environment Canada Wednesday to issue a rainfall warning for many areas of the Interior. Two-day rainfall amounts in the 40 to 60 mm range were forecast.
Rivers are expected to respond to this rainfall with rapid rises.
The Regional District encourages caution for residents and others who have occasion to be near water systems within the region.
