The City of Penticton received Mayor Dan Ashton’s resignation in writing today.

Mr. Ashton had been elected to represent the Penticton riding in the Legislative Assembly during the provincial election held on May 14. During the campaign, he had been on a leave of absence.

 

 

That leave had been extended pending the official swearing-in ceremony for MLAs, which took place yesterday. Mr. Ashton delivered his resignation to City Hall today.
