A few days ago you posted photo above asking readers what they can tell about it.
I have checked with the two Osoyoos grandsons of the man shown: Ross Driver, and George Fraser (Jr) verify that the man shown is George J. Fraser. He sold the business to T.G. (Tommy) Wilson in 1947. The office was on Main Street, Osoyoos, but George (Jr) can’t remember exactly where it was located, as the office location changed a few times.
The 1947 date for the sale of the business is found in the book The Story of Osoyoos, which was written by George J. Fraser himself.
Some of the information for that same photo on the Okanagan Archive Trust Society website is incorrect. The date must be 1947 or later (not circa 1930). The description “Local Notary poses at storefront” infers that the man is T. G. Wilson…but he’s Geo. J. Fraser – the previous owner, referred to on the window sign.
And that’s about all I know.
