The Vancouver Canucks will host the 2013 Young Stars Classic in Penticton beginning Thursday, September 5, 2013. This will be the third time the Canucks and the city of Penticton have hosted the Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic. The round-robin tournament will feature prospects from the Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks and Winnipeg Jets from September 5 – 9th.
“We’re pleased to host the Young Stars Classic in Penticton once again,” said Canucks President and General Manager, Mike Gillis. “Our fans, partners and the city of Penticton have made Young Stars a tremendous event over the past two tournaments and we look forward to continuing the tradition this year. This is a great opportunity to assess prospects and their development in a competitive environment with the support of passionate fans.”
Tournament ticket packages, which include a ticket to each of the eight games, are $70 plus applicable fees and go on sale at the South Okanagan Events Centre
The festivities will include a Canucks alumni game against other Young Stars teams’ alumni and local police and fire department members, a Canucks Business Leaders’ Day, a Minor Hockey Day, and a Canucks alumni and team personnel meet and greet.
