Michael was born January 22nd, 1927 in Slocan Park, BC to Nikolas Andrew and Dora Nazaroff (Dootoff). He was the second of six children. On June 1st, 2013, he passed away peacefully at his home in Oliver BC, surrounded by his family.
He married Pauline Strelaeff. They lived in Brilliant and then moved to Castlegar where they owned a furniture and appliance store until 1976. Michael and Pauline then purchased an orchard in Oliver and later retired there.
He is survived by his wife Pauline, sons Arnie, Dan (Joanne) and Terry (Margie) as well as seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, brothers Peter (Pat) and Jack (Ann), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces. Michael was predeceased by his parents, brother Nick and sisters Polly and Ann.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mark Hamilton, Lynn Wilson of Palliative Care, and Dr. Margaret Myslek for their compassionate care of Michael. Also many thanks for the numerous calls, cards and goodies.
Services will be held Friday, June 7th, 2013 at the Brilliant Cultural Centre in Castlegar, BC starting at 10:00 am with internment to follow at Ootischenia Cemetary.
