On Thursday May 30th, 2013, the Osoyoos RCMP received a report that a guests car at the Watermark Resort parkade had been broken into. Overnight two passenger windows on a 1996 Black BMW had been smashed out and a bag with some clothing and an IPOD were stolen.
On Friday May 31st, 2013, at approximately 7:30 pm, an Osoyoos RCMP Officer conducting ATV Patrols along the Parks and Beaches observed a group of 6 males sitting at Lions Park, Osoyoos drinking beer. Two 21 year old males from Osoyoos received Osoyoos Municipal Bylaw tickets for the Open Liquor and the remaining males were given verbal warnings. The alcohol was destroyed at the scene. This patrol is one of many funded by the Town of Osoyoos for enhanced summer Policing of the Town Parks, Beaches, and Lake.
Police received several reports of thefts which are thought to have occurred Wednesday (May 29) or Thursday (May 30) evening.
– Two solar lights – a red lady bug shape and a yellow bumblebee shape, were stolen from a yard in the 8700 block of Jubilee Drive.
– A plastic swan shaped planter and 9 globe square solar lights were also stolen from a yard in the 9200 block of 87th St.
– A Shop Vac and Phase 2 gas generator were stolen from a locked shed from a Motel on the 6400 block of Cottonwood Drive.
Police ask for everyone to report any suspicious activities to assist in identifying and apprehending those who are carrying out these thefts.
