Obituary for the late Herminia Faia Rosa Andre

Mar. 6, 1934 – May 30, 2013

 

On Thursday May 30, 2013, Mrs. Herminia Faia Rosa Andre of Oliver passed away peacefully at Sunnybank Centre at the age of 79 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Jose & Maria Francisco, brother Armando Francisco and her brother-in- law Jose Gaspar.

Herminia will be fondly remembered by her loving family including her husband Jose; her children

Lourdes, Fatima (Tony) and Ricardo (Jayson); Grandchildren; Paul (Cora), Chris (Tammi), Diana (Tom), Stefanie and Jessica as well as great-grandchildren Samera and Summer; her siblings; Antonio (Celeste) Faia, Maria Gaspar, Maria (Martino) Da Silva, Alfredo (Suzette) Francisco, Joaquim (Benvinda) Francisco and Jose (Lourdes) Francisco as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Herminia was born and raised in Portugal. Along with her family she came to Oliver in 1970 from France. She always enjoyed trips back to Portugal.

Over the years she was a dedicated member of the Okanagan Portuguese Club.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Oliver Municipal Cemetery with a reception held afterwards in the lower church hall.

Prayer vigil will be held on Monday June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church.
