A ten member group of young tennis players has asked the Oliver Parks and Recreation Society to help defray costs of a trip to Vancouver this month.
Sabra McIntrye writes that a total of $3105 is needed for the trip but that students will pay a lot of the cost and will be raising dollars in the community.
The Parks Board stated that no automatic answer will be forthcoming and that the SOSS team should file a grant in aid application for the amount it is requesting.
Hotel rooms are $1400 – the major cost of the trip.
The Tennis team received an invitation to the Vancouver Tournament when a team from Princess Margaret in Penticton dropped out.
