Once Elections BC declares officially the winner in the riding and once the new MLA is sworn in by the Lieutenant-Governor – a resignation will likely take place. Larson said Monday – “a resignation date has not be chosen”.
Once a letter to that effect is received by the Town of Oliver there is a window of 80 days in which staff have to organize such a by-election resulting in a one year period for the new councillor.
