On May 23rd, 2013, the Osoyoos RCMP was advised that sometime during the night a rock was thrown through the window at Jones Boys Automotive Repair at 8301 72 Ave. No suspects are yet known for causing this damage.
Also on May 23rd, 2013, Police received a report that overnight someone had broken the window of a Ford Probe and stolen a stereo system. The car had been parked at the Osoyoos Bottle Depot at 8305 72 Ave. If anyone has information on these crimes please call the Osoyoos RCMP at (250) 495-7236 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
During regular checks for impaired drivers over the last week Osoyoos RCMP members located and removed 4 impaired drivers from the streets of Osoyoos.
At approximately 2:00 am, on Sunday, May 26th, Osoyoos RCMP checked a 53 year old Mission man driving on Main St. The man provided breath samples which resulted in fail readings on the Roadside Screen Device. The man received a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
At approximately 2:40 am, on Sunday, May 26th, Osoyoos RCMP checked a 25 year old Abbotsford man driving in Osoyoos. The man provided breath samples which resulted in fail readings on the Roadside Screen Device. This driver also received a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
At approximately 8:40 pm, on Sunday, May 26th, Osoyoos RCMP were called to the Osoyoos Port of Entry as CBSA had detained a 31 year old Oliver man for impaired driving. The man provided breath samples which resulted in warn readings on the Roadside Screen Device. The man received a 3 Day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition.
At approximately 1:30 am, on Monday, May 27th, Osoyoos RCMP noted a vehicle driving in an odd manner in the Buy Low parking lot. Police checked the 36 year old year old female driver from Penticton who showed signs of impairment by alcohol. The female refused to provide breath samples as required. As a result the driver received a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
