On May 09, 2013 a representative for the Town of Oliver Visitor Center reported that it appears that some tourists traveling through Oliver are parking near the Tourist Center and breaking off the security cover which protects their outside power outlets from unauthorized usage.  Oliver residents are asked to report any suspicious activity of this nature to the police.  The theft of the electricity is a minor inconvenience when compared to the damage that is caused to the outlet and the potential damage to the electrical wiring.   Oliver Detachment File number 2104 2013-1666 refers.

On May 13, 2013 an Oliver resident attended to the Oliver RCMP Detachment to report that he had left his 2003 Ford Explorer at Madden Lake as a result of some mechanical problems.  When he returned he discovered that his vehicle was severely vandalized: all windows smashed, all four tires stolen and the rear bumper missing.   Oliver Detachment File number 2104 2013-1688 refers.
