Residents invited to learn more about new Okanagan Falls wastewater treatment plant
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen will host an information meeting for Okanagan Falls residents interested in the community’s new wastewater treatment system, which went online earlier this year.
“We’re very proud of the new wastewater facility and although we’re planning a community open house for later this summer, we wanted to give Okanagan Falls residents a better understanding of the facility’s features, benefits and additional costs,” explained Area “D” Director Tom Siddon, adding the meeting is also intended to provide information on accompanying rate increases.
“Frankly, the facility comes with an increase in the sewer utility rate and we want to make sure residents are both aware of that rate increase and the reasons behind it.”
The Regional District will host the information meeting at the Okanagan Falls Senior Centre (1128 Willow St.) May 15, beginning at 7 p.m. All Okanagan Falls ratepayers and residents are encouraged to attend.
