Small crowd of thirty people attended a meeting in the Legion Hall last night with featured speakers Corky Evans and Moe Sihota. Evans being a former Agriculture Minister and Sihota the current president of the NDP in BC.
Sam Hancheroff told the gathering that a NDP government would support and promote the agriculture industry with a Grow BC, Buy BC and Feed BC policy.
Corky Evans said the BC government’s investment in agriculture is the lowest in Canada and we should be ashamed of that. He stated passionately don’t follow the gossip – country folk vote for the team that will win.
Mo Sihota, speaking in Punjabi, told local farmers that they had a choice support the local NDP candidate and have a say in Government in Victoria – or elect a person who will sit in opposition and not be in a position to help.
Jeet Dukhia, BCFGA president from Vernon spoke once in English and once in Punjabi – telling local farmers that their best interests are served by electing Sam Hancheroff.
