Full dress for some on this hot May day while attending ceremonies put on by the Royal Canadian Legion on the nearest Sunday to VE day in Europe 1945.
Branch 97 held the Passing of the Torch of Remembrance from the older generation to the younger with 250 lit candles (in red plastic wind topped candles) being placed on the veterans headstones. This is accomplished by a young person and a veteran or adult taking a candle to the headstone and the young person placing the candle on the headstone. The candles will burn all night.
Below Yvonne Moore sits with Faryn Janzen at the scattering gardens before placing a candle nearby.
