Six directors of the Oliver and District Heritage Society will continue on with plans for more progress.
A small crowd of 18 attended an annual general meeting in the Quail’s Nest Studio Wednesday to review a management and directors report and to analyze the 2012 Financial Statements. The ODHS spent about 110 thousand dollars in 2012 operations ending the year with a surplus. It ended the year with capital assets and current assets totalling about 282 thousand dollars.
In the last year two staff members have hired – both moving to Oliver. The museum has been renovated with an opening planned for June. It has almost completed the 90 thousand dollar renovation project with half of the funding from a federal government grant.
The collection of artifacts is being reviewed with a new policy in place.
Re-elected by acclamation, Sue Morhun, Charles Gurr, Dave Janzen. Terry Schafer, Bruce Fuller and Liz Wagner. The board could have more directors but there were no other volunteers.
Volunteers were thanked for all the efforts in the last year.
