A bit of a wild ride on Tuc-el-nuit Drive this afternoon with a small car careening off the road, through a metal gate. through an orchard before crashing into a tall tree that stopped the journey.
The car was northbound. The time about 3:15 this afternoon.
The male driver was extricated from his car, assisted by Oliver Firefighters, and whisked away to the Emergency Ward at SO General Hospital. Injuries not known.
A witness driving a vehicle behind the car in the picture told media and police he spoke briefly to the driver after the crash and noticed two things: liquor in the car and a long barrel weapon.
That same witness said he saw the crashed vehicle swerving and children on both sides of the road – after getting down from a school bus.
Four policeman were at the crash scene to investigate.
