A 15 year old boy who had taken a family car without permission was caught speeding by police on Hwy 1 around 2 am one day this week near Abbottsford.
The young male was trying to get back home with a Caddie before anyone could notice it was missing. Unfortunately the young boy crossed path with a police cruiser westbound near Bradner Road in Abbotsford, BC. “‘The vehicle was travelling at extreme speeds – 175 Km/H in 100 Km/H zone,’” said Cpl Robert Mc Donald Lower Mainland Traffic Services.
The vehicle was stopped without incident. The young male explained to the officer that he used the vehicle to meet a young girl he recently met on a school trip. That meeting did not go as he had hoped. “‘Though the young man then had to face his parents and explain why their 2008 Cadillac CTS was being impounded, and why he received $759 in tickets, the alternative could have been much worse’ ”says Cpl Mc Donald.
The young driver was served with a violation ticket for Excessive Speed2008 Purple Cadillac CTS, at the impound lot.sec 148 (1) Motor vehicle Act $ 483.00
And no driver’s license sec 24(3) Motor Vehicle Act $ 276.00 – Plus a 7 days vehicle impound
