On April 25, 2013, member of the Regional GIS, Oliver RCMP and Penticton Police Dog Service executed a Controlled Drugs & Substances Act search warrant at the residence located on OIB. The two adult males, who are well known to police, were arrested at the scene and are currently being held in custody pending a court appearance today (April 26, 2013) in Penticton Provincial Court.
The search resulted in the location and seizure of various drug related items including: 21.26 grams of methamphetamine (suspected); cash; an airsoft rifle that closely resembled a real firearm; and, ammunition for a Winchester 308. Charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking are being sought.
This effort by the Regional General Investigative Unit, working out of the Oliver Detachment, is support of the continued efforts of Chief Clarence Louie to maintain a healthy and safe environment for members of the Osoyoos Indian Band.
