Smoke billowing in the sky for 3 and more hours today in Penticton. Smoke visable more than ten miles away. At about 1:30 this afternoon the sawdust hopper erupted and water was being placed on the bottom end for many hours by the Penticton Fire Department. At 4:30 crews still on the scene pouring on the water.

The mill is on PIB land west of the city.
