Today a tour of organizers of “The Day on a Farm” event in Oliver. But not much of a crowd:
The manager, the backers Chris and Greg Norton, one reporter, one MLA hopeful Linda Larson (seen below listening to Manager Yvon Ferland, two event organizers, one councillor from Princeton and two reps from Employment Standards.
The tour included a tale by Greg of how Loose Bay started and evolved right up the problems of today which include a whopping big power bill – that has doubled with Fortis BC deciding to back date the invoices – while changing the power category from residential to business class.
Norton says the campsite can house up to 350 and it has but the average summer stay numbers average around a hundred.

The group was told that a farmer’s camp in Osoyoos has never materialized and one that operated outside of Keremeos folded after two years.
The (FACTOS) Farm and Community Team Okanagan Similkameen – toured a local farm, lunched with the Mayor of Oliver and will host a meeting tonight at 7 at the Oliver Community Centre. This is an opportunity for farm workers and farmers to get together.
