The Campbell Family has lived in this house for at least half a century and no record of water in the basement till this year – the great Park Rill Creek water-rushing-down-the hills 2013 event.
Doug, the carpenter, quite surprised to have to protect his home from flooding with at least 3 inches of water in the basement having to be pumped out in the last two weeks. The water has damaged the flooring, soaked into the wall wood and more. He has cut off a couple feet of gyproc to prevent mold and will blow out the moisture once the bulk of the water is pumped outside and he hopes there is no more.
Doug’s parents first owned the home in the sixties and he and Aline purchased it from the estate.
The scene below is the tranquil Park Rill Creek to the west of their home on the 7600 block of Island Rd.
The Campbells say they will be notifying the RDOS of this matter and ODN asks – who else? – Is there anyone you know who has suffered flood damage? Let us know.
