Annual Candlelight Tribute in the Veterans Section  of the Oliver Cemetery on Sunday 5 May at 4:30pm.  This is “Passing the  Torch of Remembrance from the older generation to the younger.  All  Community members, old and young are urged to attend.  There will be a  formal Legion Tribute, with a few local and visiting dignitaries.  Local Youth Ambassadors will be in attendance as will members of the local cubs and scouts, Air Cadets and hopefully other youths/groups.

After the formal tribute, a young person and older person/veteran will take a red lit candle and  place it on a veterans headstone, until they are all covered.

Anyone who has a relative who is a veteran may wish to place a  candle in other parts of the cemetery – this can be done earlier or after  the main ceremony.
