Name: Kathleen Biron
Rank: Constable
Experience: 7 years with the Calgary Police Service
Cst. Biron recently took a lateral entry transfer allowing her to become a Mountie because of her experience.
Kathleen hails from the Shuswap but is very familiar with the South Okanagan as she was employed for many years at the Weyerhaeuser Mill in Okanagan Falls working the planer.
Asked what the one thing she looked forward to in her duties – “reading to kids” as that is something she was involved with in Calgary schools.
Cst. Biron says she is just doing her first shift today and looking forward to settling in and getting to know the area and the people and she expects to run into a few from the old days at the mill.
Thank you for coming Cst. Kathleen Biron – welcome to Oliver. We need you. Now to the picture in the car – she stated she would have to wear a hat if out of the car so it was a good decision to shoot the photo in the car.
