February 1, 1944 – April 13, 2013
Barry Doug Johnson was born in Vancouver on February 1, 1944 and passed away at the Kelowna General Hospital last Saturday
Barry moved to Oliver in 1980 with his family. He worked for the lumber yard briefly, he then went to work for Highways until he retired in 2008. Later he decided to go back to work part time for B.F.I.
Barry loved softball, fishing and curling but golf was his passion. He was an enthusiastic golfer and member at Fairview Mtn. Golf Course.
He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Enid. Barry is survived by his loving family including wife Diane; daughter Leah (Jim) Wiens; son Michael; grandchildren Katelyn, Dillon and Janista; brother Brian in Australia; step-mother Donna; stepsister Diane (Gord) Northcote and stepbrother Mark (Joyce) Broadhead.
A celebration of Barry’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday April 19th at Fairview Mtn. Golf Course.
