Ceremonies at Silver Sage Winery with Mayor Ron Hovanes presiding
Trudy Demorest is a founding member of the Desert Valley Hospice Society and is the current Past President. She has been a small business owner in Oliver for over 34 years and has been an active member of the community serving with many volunteer organizations including the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary and the Canadian Cancer Society annual campaign. She enjoys volunteer work and the opportunity it provides to give back to the community.
Gurky Buttar was described as simply “amazing” by Vice-Principal Tracy Harrington for the amount of selfless time donated to students and the community by this young SOSS student.
Oliver Lioness Club is so active in the community it is hard not to see their work at every corner of the community – baking muffins for students, purchasing Guide Dogs, helping with RCMP bike team fundraising, kitchen crew at Oliver Arena and much much more.
