Remembering Kenneth Plume
1938 – 2013
It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth (Ken) Edward Plume announces his passing. Ken died peacefully on April 10, 2013 in the South Okanagan General Hospital after an extended battle with heart disease. He was 74 years old.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sonja; his daughter, Daniela Plume
(Christopher Doyle); his son, René Plume (Elaine Taylor); and his
grandchildren, Justin, Quinn, and Shelby.
Ken served our country for 25 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, including a tour of duty in the Middle East with the UN Peacekeeping force in the Golan Heights (Israel). Following retirement, he continued to serve the military as a civilian employee at C.F.B. Abbotsford and, eventually, retired fully and moved to Oliver.
Ken was well-known in the Oliver community and was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Crime Watch. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service was held at Oliver Kingdom Hall on Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
