As of April 8, 2013 – The KVR trail (trestles) between Myra Station parking lot and Ruth Station parking lot are closed until further notice due to a damaged trestle and rock fall hazards.
A rock slide has damaged a trestle along the historic Kettle Valley Railway, closing the popular Myra Canyon Trail south of Kelowna.
Not known when the popular hiking and biking trail will reopen.
Slide is large and very destructive.
All other trestles and pathways along the trail are being inspected for any damage.
The century-old Kettle Valley Railway, including a dozen rail trestles through the Myra Canyon, has been dramatically upgraded over the last decade since a wildfire destroyed 12 of the historic wooden spans and damaged two steel trestles.
