The 3rd annual Lose it for Life Fitness challenge wrapped up on Thursday, April 4th, when 16 of the original 26 participants arrived at the Community Centre for their Finale and final weigh in.
The Finale was an opportunity for participants to repeat all of the baseline tests they did back on day one including Body Fat %, Waist Measurements and Body Weight one final time. All the results were recorded and differences from the baseline numbers calculated so that participants could see how far they had come in just 12 shorts weeks. The results were quite impressive.
Registering for the 3rd Annual Lose it 4 Life program gave participants a 3 month weight room pass, nutritional plan, 10 punch flex pass, wellness seminars and a professional trainer. Pool and weight room passes were given out for the finale category winners.
Over the past 12 weeks participants have attended information sessions with Trainer Jorg Mardian to assist with nutrition choices, burning more calories and goal setting. Some participants chose to take part in fitness challenges such as a Walk/Run 3K, pickleball and various Yoga/fitness classes.
Of the 16 people who came to the Finale a total of 220 pounds were lost in 12 weeks! With an average of 13.75lbs per person. 5 participants lost under 10 pounds, 9 lost more than 10 pounds during their journey, and 2 lost more than 20lbs. Also amazing were the incredible individual losses in Body Fat % and inches, as well as increased fitness and huge re-commitment to eating well.
As far as individual results, here are the top participants in each category. Oliver Parks & Recreation would like to sincerely congratulate these winners on their outstanding achievements.
