The 2013 Pinnacles Football Club (PFC) Mini and Youth Soccer season is approaching quickly. If you haven’t already registered it may be too late as most of the teams are formed and coaching assignments given. We do have some teams that need players and/or coaching assistance so it’s best to check with PFC Admin.
The PFC website is also a great spot to check for the latest information and news.
PFC MINI PROGRAM (Born 2003 – 2008)
This program runs from April 9th to June 22. All practices and games are Tuesday’s from 6:00 to 7:00pm and Saturday’s from 9:00 to 10:00am at Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary. There is no soccer planned for May 18 (May Long weekend) and June 1 (Oliver Half Ironman).
The Mini Program is an introduction to soccer and it’s really the grassroots of the game. Grassroots is about small sided games (3 vs 3, 4 vs 4 or 7 vs 7) and basic skill development. Small sided soccer is the heart of the BC Soccer Assoc (BCSA) Grassroots Soccer Program. More touches on the ball, active participation, less “grouping” around the ball, lots of action for the kids, lots of goals (they like that) and lots of fun!! PFC YOUTH PROGRAM (Born 1995 – 2002)
This program runs from April 9th to June 22. Most league games are Saturdays, except for the occasional Friday night game. Teams are required to travel to Osoyoos, Oliver, Keremeos, Penticton, and Summerland to play their league games.
The Youth program kicks off this weekend with an Ice Breaker Tournament in Penticton April 5, 6 and 7th. Please check the Pinnacles FC website for games schedules and more information.
The youth program caters to players from 11 to 18 years of age. The emphasis of fun, age specific drills geared for improvement, sportsmanship and healthy competition is the focus for this group. Age groups are combined to ensure there are enough players and teams to make the program fun and fair for everyone.
Pinnacles FC is an organization dedicated to the development and enjoyment of soccer by the youth in the South Okanagan. The organization is run by a volunteer board of directors, and the coaches and managers of the teams are also volunteers.
