The Penticton RCMP have recovered the van and other items stolen from the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs in Penticton and two people have been remanded to custody for the theft.
On Wednesday at 5:40 p.m., the RCMP received a report that a female had just crashed into a parked car on Lakeshore near Winnipeg Street.
Residents of the nearby apartment high rise noted a female and a male flee the van.
The residents from their “high rise” vantage point were able to maintain a view of the two suspects and direct police to their whereabouts.
Police officers chased after the two on foot and both were eventually apprehended.
The 26-year-old woman from Penticton was found in possession of a quantity of methamphetime, trafficking paraphernalia and a number of cell phones.
The 33-year-old man from Kelowna, has a lengthy criminal record.
The two will appear in Penticton court on Friday.
