After two years of planning and discussion with adjacent landowners we are ready to begin work on phase two of the ORRI project.
Phase 2 will reconnect an oxbow below the Forsythe property with the Okanagan River. Work will begin with the removal of brush at the north and south end of the site and progress to dike building and culvert placements.
The brush is being removed in the next few days before birds begin nesting in the area. Disturbed ground and other areas will be replanted with riparian species to replace the removed brush.
The work will continue for several weeks.
