On March 15, 2013 a local business owner reported that at some point between 10:00 and 14:00 Hours her 2004 Saturn car, parked behind a business in the 6000 Block of Main Street in Oliver, B.C. had the passenger window smashed and a video camera mounted on the front dash was stolen from inside the vehicle. A young male was observed in the area around the time of the theft and investigation is continuing in an effort to identify the suspect and recover the property.
This file is a reminder that with the warmer weather and the potential increase in pedestrian traffic, the public should work to ensure that any property that is valuable be put out of sight. Theft from Vehicle complaints historically increase in the warmer months.

On March 06, 2013 at 06:10 Hours the Oliver RCMP responded to a report that a red truck had struck a fence in the 4000 Block of Black Sage Rd. RCMP attended and located the vehicle which was sideways on the road and in the south bound lane. A 20 year old male Osoyoos resident was contacted and was issued a 90 day driving prohibition as a result of police investigation.
On March 17th 2013 at 18:23 Hours, Emergency Health Services reported a collision on Ryegrass Road, Oliver B.C. RCMP and other emergency services attended and located a Blue 2000 Toyota Camry on the edge of an embankment with the engine on fire. A Fortis pole had also sustained significant damage. Investigation confirmed that the vehicle had been driven by a 49 year old Kelowna male and that speed was the precipitating factor. A violation ticket for driving without consideration was issued to the driver. None of the occupants of the vehicle had sustained injuries as a result of this collision.
