Bond will meet with Chief Clarence Louie, SOCC Past President Petra Veintimilla, Minister of Citizen’s Services and Open Government Ben Stewart at Spirit Ridge Resort at 10:30 Wednesday morning to make two announcements related to the Okanagan Corrections Centre. Bond told her audience that it was time to “lock down” the deal in concrete terms. The announcement says these are significant milestones in the planning and development process.
Three things come to mind – payment to the OIB for the use of the land, access to the prison through parkland and the P3 tendering process of selecting a construction company that will be involved not only in building but maintaining the institution.
In Penticton – Premier Christy Clark will be visiting Penticton Regional Hospital to make an announcement benefitting the families in the southern Okanagan.
