Oliver Town Council

Water for irrigation will be available to farmers Thursday April 11th.

By April 1st all work on the new box culvert north of Oliver under Highway 97  will be complete and water diverted from the river. Paving will be the next project by the Ministry of Transportation in that area.

The owner of Casa Rio Developments has notified the town and the current strata property owners that phase 4 of the planned development will not proceed. Residents in the area  (south of the hospital) appeared before council asking that the area be cleaned up.

Council has asked staff to do what is possible to convince tardy land owners to identify buildings with the correct numbers for emergency purposes. A notice will be sent with the next water bill and enforcement of a bylaw on the subject may be used if there is a lack of compliance. Proper numbering will ensure a quick response from police, fire and ambulance.
