On February 21, 2013 at 9:30am the Osoyoos RCMP received a report of a male damaging vehicles on Lombardy Lane. The male was first observed in a carport smashing an unoccupied vehicle with a rock as well as kicking the vehicle. The male broke both the front and rear windshields and caused damage to the hood, the side windows, the roof and the doors. When confronted the male departed only to walk across the street and into another driveway where he kicked the door of another vehicle causing a large dent and then back across the road again to do the same to a truck parked on the side of the road. Police apprehended the 70 year old male a block away. The male was arrested for mischief however it was quickly determined he was suffering from mental health issues. The male was taken to the hospital where he was admitted for treatment of his illness. The damage to the first vehicle was so severe the vehicle was written off.
On February 28, 2013 the Osoyoos RCMP executed an arrest of a 25 year old male wanted out of West Kelowna for Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Obstruction. The male was on the run after committing the assault and had rented a hotel room with the intention of hiding out in Osoyoos however was caught by police the same day he arrived. The male is a resident of West Kelowna and had no ties to the Osoyoos area. He was arrested without incident and transported back to Kelowna to face charges.
On March 2, 2013 the Osoyoos RCMP received several calls of excessive noise coming from a residence on Jubilee Drive. Members attended and spoke to the new home owners who were having a party. A warning was issued to help educate the new owners of the Noise Regulations bylaw and they agreed to ensure things remained quieter.
On March 2, 2013 the Osoyoos RCMP were called to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 62nd Avenue and 89th Street. The female pedestrian, a 53 year old resident was crossing the intersection when a 2005 Honda Accord driven by a 64 year old male resident of Osoyoos failed to come to a complete stop at the stop sign and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was treated by BC Ambulance for minor injuries to her leg and elbow. The driver only stopped briefly before departing. He faces charge under the Motor Vehicle Act.
